The Irish weather has outdone itself in recent weeks with the most beautiful autumn we’ve had in years – the crisp days and glorious sunshine have cheered me right up! To make my happiness complete, the beauty aisles are full of autumnal-inspired products at the moment and I’m trying my best not to go on a massive product splurge.
If like me you are trying to save a few pennies but still need your beauty fix, budget brand Essence has just released its Hello Autumn collection.
Every Irish girl will be familiar with Essence – I’m incapable of passing by the range’s stand in my local Dunne Stores without picking up a little something. So I was excited to try out Essence’s new range. I took these pictures on a beautiful October evening in Ireland and I think they sum up the collection’s pretty seasonal colours. Here are a few of my favourite pieces.
Hello Autumn Walk In The Park Palette
This gorgeous neutral palette has all the basics covered here for creating a smokey eye. Pale champagne, taupe, rich red-brown and ash-brown will take you from a muted daytime eye to a more dramatic look for the evening. The eyeshadow shades are wearable, blendable and have a subtle shimmer. A nice little palette for less than a fiver.
Hello Autumn Nail Polish in Beauti-Fall Red
I have more red polishes than I know what to with at this stage but I admit I was sold on the promise of some ‘thermo effect’ action. The polish is a gorgeous red-brown shade but changes its colour depth depending on the temperature – darker in cooler temps and lighter in the heat. Love it! I found it glossy, easy to apply and remained chip-free for days.
Hello Autumn Eye Pencil in Charlie Seen In Green
This is a clever little eye pencil doubling up as a smudger to help achieve a smoked eye on the go. As a brown-eyed girl, I’m always on the lookout for a pretty green pencil. Charlie Seen In Green is a lovely earthy shade and I like to smudge mine under the eye for a subtle hit of colour.
Hello Autumn Lip Cream in Beauti-Fall Red
I love a lip gloss and will pretty much wear anything I can get my hands on. This Essence ‘lip cream’ gives a lovely semi-matt finish. Available in a pink and reddish-brown shade, I opted for the red (I’m anything if predictable). It gave a lovely, long-lasting colour and my lips felt nicely moisturised. Plus it smells great. A bargain for less than three quid!
Have you tried out any of Essence’s new autumn collection?
