A touch of pink

by ,

This grey Monday is brought to you by a pop of pink. I don’t know about you lot but I am really struggling this January. It’s endless. When the Irish weather is this grey and miserable, you can’t beat a gorgeous bright lippy to cheer yourself up.

I’m not normally one for selfies but the Essence lippy I’m wearing above is such a gorgeous pink, I thought I’d share it. I’ve actually had both Essence Good Girl Bad Girl lipsticks pictured for quite some time now but I’ve only returned to wearing pink after a lengthy affair with festive reds.

Called Caught In The Middle, the lipstick is creamy and moisturising but perhaps not the most long-lasting. To make mine survive copious amounts of coffee drinking, I apply it with a lip brush, blot with tissue paper and apply a second, generous coat.

The other shade pictured is called It Wasn’t Me. Although it looks black in the picture, it’s actually a rich purple upon application. Personally it’s a little heavy for me but I’d imagine my teenage niece would rock it.

Essence are a much-loved budget brand in Ireland. With Valentine’s just around the corner, I’m reliably informed the brand are releasing a beautiful collection of neutrals called ‘I Love Nude’ just in time for February 14th. Featuring nude lipsticks, lipglosses and eyeshadows, they’ll be in store for less than a fiver all next month. Whoop!
