If there was an award for the biggest Laura Mercier Make-Up Fiend, I’d win it. So all you other LM fiends out there can move along now! I’ve been wearing LM for five years after I had a make-up lesson in the run-up to my wedding day. As our wedding was in France, I had to do my own make-up on the day and pretty much bought the entire product line to wear (this was pre-creche/pre-mortgage days. Sigh).
I currently have two Laura Mercier compacts, two foundations and two tinted moisturisers on the go, such is my love for the brand! So today I’ve decided to review my most repurchased products – the Tinted Moisturiser and the Silk Creme Foundation.
Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser in Bisque
This is my favourite tinted moisturiser of all time. It’s lightweight, is SPF 20 and offers a hint of sheer colour, so is perfect for the summer months. As I’ve very oily skin, I opt for the oil-free formulation and it sinks right in. I do usually add a little Smashbox Primer over my very oily areas as you can never be too sure. In summer, I would wear this with a little concealer and some setting powder on my T-zone. In winter, I would use this as a base before foundation. Which brings me to my favourite foundation of all time…
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Beige Ivory
This is serious, heavy-duty foundation for full coverage lovers (me!). Its light-diffusing formula gives a flawless finish and I always get compliments on my skin when I’m wearing this. And it lasts the pace. I wore this for 16 hours on my wedding day with minimal touch-ups. I usually wear this to work or on nights out as it’s pretty pricey.
The foundation is set for a relaunch this month and will now be called the Silk Creme Photo Edition Foundation. Like the original, it will offer full coverage, long wear and is designed to photo well. You can be sure I’ll be all over it.
What I’m wearing in the gallery
If you can excuse my grumpy face (it was disaster central with things falling on me off camera), I’m wearing the LM tinted moisturiser, the LM foundation, Smashbox BB Cream Eyes concealer, Rimmel Stay Matte setting powder, Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink, Smashbox Double Exposure eyeshadows and Wet n Wild Megalength mascara. My Kendall Jenner-esque lip is me forgetting to blend in my Rimmel liner in Tiramisu.
