What’s in my make-up bag #4

by ,

It’s been ages since I did a make-up bag round-up. Like most women I have more than one bag/foundation/brush/palette on the go in any number of handbags, so today I thought I’d show you a few of my current favourites.

Sleek blush in Pixie Pink
I’m a big fan of budget brand Sleek. The cute product range and slick, black packaging makes the make-up look far more expensive than its bargain-basement prices. I’ve been using the blusher in Pixie Pink lately. Although it looks shocking pink in the gallery, it is, in fact, fairly light once applied. Admittedly, it’s not the longest lasting product but I’m a complusive blush topper-upper anyway, so I’m happy to regularly re-apply. My only gripe is I can never open the fiddly compact – I’ve ruined a nail or two trying to prise it open. Sort it out, Sleek!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser & Silk Creme Foundation
I reviewed these two LM products here last week so I’m not going to repeat myself too much. Basically, the oil-free tinted moisturiser gives skin a beautiful sheer wash of colour while the Silk Creme foundation offers buildable coverage for a flawless finish. I adore both of these bases and repurchase them every six months or so. It’s love!

Blank Canvas F15 brush
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect fluffy undereye brush and this Blank Canvas F15 fits the bill. It’s designed to be used for sculpting and contouring but I actually use mine to apply undereye setting powder. It’s super soft and the perfect size for diffusing the powder. Me lovey.

Sleek Eyebrow Stylist in Dark
I’m seriously lazy when it comes to my unruly brows and usually just whack a bit of dark eyeshadow through them. I really want to try the Anastasisa Brow Wiz but as I’m short on funds (as usual), I’ve been giving this budget Sleek version a try. I have to say I’m not overly impressed. Sure, the spooly thing is handy for combing my brows into submission. But I have yet to get the hang of the pencil – it always looks really obvious that I’ve been drawing on my brows. I don’t want to give up just yet but it might be back to the eyeshadow for me.

Sleek Gloss Me lip gloss in Angel Falls
If you like your lips nude and your glosses sticky, Sleek have it covered. I’ve been wearing this gloss a lot lately but a word of warning – apply it at your destination if you don’t want your blow-dry stuck to your syrupy lips. The windy Irish weather has conspired of late to ruin my freshly applied gloss. Sleek’s Angel Falls is no MAC C-Thru (my all-time fave), but it’s a pretty close budget contender.
