It’s my birthday. And yes I will cry if I want to. To commiserate, er, celebrate my march through my thirties, I’ve brought in the anti-ageing heavy-hitters. No more half-hearted skin care routine for me, thank you very much. It’s polypeptide-this, anti-oxidant that. While you can’t stop the ageing process, you can certainly fling yourself in its path, human shield-stylie, to try and slow it down.
This month, I’ve been trying out a couple of products from Image skincare’s Iluma range after meeting with the flawless CEO Janna Ronert, whose own skin is the perfect endorsement for her innovative line. Here’s how I got on.
Iluma Intense Brightening Eye Crème
If you have hereditary dark circles like myself, no eye cream alone will ever rid you of those. But with a decent product (plus plenty of sleep and a good diet) you can lighten and brighten the area.
The Iluma Intense Brightening Eye Creme promises to significantly reduce dark circles with its (Science Bit Alert!) formulation of phytonutrients, peptides and plant stem cells. The cream also uses Vectorize-Technology which delivers time-released lightening ingredients over a 48-hour period.
While I have no idea how Vectorize-Technology works, I found the cream ultra-hydrating and luxurious to use. After four weeks of use, my undereye area feels moisturised, my fine lines are less visible, and yes, the area looks lighter and brighter.
I loved this eye cream. It’s pricey (€64) but a little goes a long way and is, in my opinion, worth the splurge.
Iluma Intense Brightening Exfoliating Powder
This luxury polishing powder smells heavenly – sort of a coconutty/Fairy Cake mix combo. Most nights I didn’t know whether to eat it or scrub my face with it.
Formulated with botanicals, enzymes and antioxidants, the micro-grain scrub left my skin feeling refreshed and glowing. I normally use a scrub with a larger grain (Bia Beauty’s Orange & Grapefruit being a particular favourite) but this is so gentle it can be used every day. A really luxurious treat (€38) if you’re feeling spendy. I likes it a lot.
Have you tried any of Image’s products? What did you think?
