Three Things: Smashbox favourites

by ,

I’ve been on a bit of Smashbox buzz lately. After Mr TBI (my sometimes enabler) gave me the divine Double Exposure eyeshadow palette for Mother’s Day, I’ve just generally been loitering around the brand’s make-up stand in my local shopping centre. Here’s what I picked up on my last loiter, er, trip to Boots.

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes
I’m not normally a fan of brush concealers as I find there’s usually very little product in the tube but I picked this up on a whim. I have no idea why it is called BB eyes but it’s a good, creamy concealer that offers reasonable coverage without settling into fine lines. Although the colour selection is very limited (four shades), I opted for the lightest shade and it does the job. This hasn’t changed my life but overall it’s not a bad little concealer.

Smashbox Photo Finish Shadow Primer
This was another impulse purchase. I’m not a massive fan of lid primers as that’s what foundation is for, right? However, a little dab of this does ensure long-lasting, smudge-proof eye make-up. If you are prone to ‘Mascara Slippage’ (that’s a thing now), you’ll love this.

Smashbox Double Exposure Palette
Ooh I luurve this palette so much and have previously reviewed it here. The Double Exposure palette has seven shimmers, four satins and three mattes and can be used wet or dry. The eyeshadows are highly pigmented and wear beautifully – I swear my eye make-up looks better as the day wears on. In the gallery above, I’m wearing a base of Veiled, with Quartz and Flushed along the socket line and Copper on the outer corners of the eye.

A round of applause for Smashbox! Who’s with me?
