Three Things: New favourites

by ,

Beauty bloggers are a fickle bunch. Even when I’ve found ‘The One’ foundation/lipstick/blusher, part of me still thinks ‘what if there is something better out there?!’ I literally never get tired of trying out new make-up.

So today I wanted to show you three new bits and pieces I was sent to try and am loving at the moment. And before I forget, a special shout-out goes to my new leather Oasis make-up pouch which I picked up for a bargain €12 (whoop whoop!).

Wet n Wild Max Volume Plus Mascara
I’m a big fan of Wet n Wild’s budget mascaras, especially my beloved Megalength so I knew I’d get along with its latest Max Volume. I love everything about this from the bright pink tube to the generous wand. It gives my lashes good definition and has even been mistaken for pricey brands (by the YSL counter artist who recently gave me an impromptu makeover). I was also surprised to see the formula contains macadamia nut, jojoba and olive oil to help keep lashes in good shape – who knew mascaras could be so swishy?! Available nationwide, priced €5.49

MAC Cremesheen Glass in Softly Lit
MAC have added four new limited edition shades to its bestselling Cremesheen Glass range (nude Softly Lit, fuchsia Loud & Lovely, burgandy Richly Revered and black Dark Outsider). I love these gloss/lipstick hybrids as they have the creamy texture of quality lippies with the high shine of a gloss. I’ve been wearing Softly Lit which is a no-fuss nude. As you’d expect, it’s gorge – soft, moisturising and comfortable to wear. It can be worn alone or used over nude lipsticks for added shine. Love! Available from August exclusively in Brown Thomas, priced €22

Catrice Transparent Mattifying Powder
My inner oily girl rejoiced when I got this to try – I can’t live without setting powders. This budget Catrice one is surprisingly finely milled and didn’t settle into my pores like some (pricey) powders do. It gave me a shine-free T-zone for hours and handily enough, has a hidden mirror for ease of reapplication on the go. Available in Penneys from July to September, priced €5.49
