Clarins Joli Rouge Lipsticks

by ,

I don’t need any more lipsticks, said no woman ever. Me personally? I definitely do not need any more lipsticks but that hasn’t stopped me adding three more beauts to my collection.

Clarins Autumn/Winter 2015 ‘Pretty Day & Night’ collection has just hit stores and it’s gorgeous – think bright daytime lips in modern shimmers and smoky night-time eyes in classic neutrals.

The brand has also just revamped its popular Joli Rouge lipstick range with 25 luminous colours to choose from. Promising six hours of long-lasting colour, the lipsticks are highly-pigmented, moisturising and so comfortable to wear. I was given three to try and here’s what I thought.

Clarins Joli Rouge in Joli Rouge
I’ll kick off with my favourite shade which naturally enough is the brightest red – I’m nothing if not predictable! Snapchatters out there will have already seen me pouting around town in this one (follow me at: thebeautyinbox). I absolutely adore this lippy. It’s bright, it’s long-lasting, it’s in-your-face and it doesn’t dry out lips. What more could you ask for? (Well maybe a back-rub.)

Clarins Joli Rouge in Candy Rose
I was unsure about this pink in the bullet. It’s hard to see from my photos above but it’s very pink and very shimmery – I’m thinking Cyndi Lauper circa 1983 here. Having said all that, it’s actually really pretty on. I may spontaneously burst into Girls Just Wanna Have Fun whilst wearing it, but I can live with that.

Clarins Joli Rouge in Soft Berry
I do love a brown nude lipstick. Soft Berry reminded me of the colour I wore obsessively during my teens in the Nineties. Again it’s highly-pigmented, moisturising and long-lasting. A great office-appropriate (unlike me) choice. Love!

Will you be trying Clarins Joli Rouge lipsticks? Are you likely to burst into Cyndi Lauper’s songs at a moment’s notice? Or is it just me?
