When I don’t have time (always), I love ‘the five product face’ – five reliable products to get me out the door in record time.
So if your Snooze button is worn out from use, these effortless make-up products will give you a perfected face and more importantly, those precious extra five minutes in bed. Hurrah!
Catrice Even Skin Tone Foundation
I’ve been reaching for this budget foundation (€7.89) for the past few weeks. Its liquid formula in a handy pump means it can be applied with fingertips for those frantic mornings.
It offers light to medium coverage so looks very natural and sits comfortably on my skin. My skin has been very clear of late so this is perfect for me but if you are looking for more coverage, this may not suit.
Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer
I’ve been using this continuously (review here) for the past two months and love it. So much so, it has replaced my beloved Rimmel Wake Me Up as my budget concealer of choice.
The liquid formula offers medium coverage but is buildable if you need more (like me!). It’s so easy to work with – I use a wedge sponge or fingertips if rushed. It has a handy doe-foot applicator and it doesn’t crease like some more expensive brands (Nars, I’m talking to you!). Love.
Revlon Powder Blush in Haute
This has to be one of my favourite high street blushes of all time (review here). It’s highly pigmented and has great colour payoff. And don’t let the bright pink scare you – it actually gives cheeks a gorgeous flush that lasts.
Clarins Ombre Matte Eyeshadow in Heather
I’ve been on a bit of a mauve eyeshadow buzz lately after rediscovering Catrice’s Absolute Rose in a make-up bag clear-out. I’m also loving the new Clarins Ombre Matte shade in Heather.
As someone with brown-green eyes (breen?), it’s the perfect subtle shade to enhance my peepers. I will have a full review and swatches up later in the week but spoiler alert, it’s gorge!
Benefit They’re Real mascara
Last but not least is a generous coating of mascara. At the moment, I’m crushing on Benefit They’re Real mascara (along with every other blogger out there). What else can I say that hasn’t already been said? The mascara gives gorgeous, full lashes without flaking or smudging. I’m also digging its sleek pewter tube.
For a more budget-friendly option, I’ve just finished my tube of Wet n Wild Max Volume mascara – it’s all kinds of awesomeness.
So ladies, what are your five go-to products at the moment?
