The Five-Minute Face (featuring Catrice & AYU)

by ,

It’s no secret that I love Catrice. Its quality budget make-up literally whispers sweet nothings every time I’m passing through Penneys (at least someone does, wha’?!)

I usually have a few Catrice bits and bobs in my make-up bag, alongside my high-end favourites. As I only ever get five precious minutes to put my face on, I thought I’d show you some of my current favourites Catrice products I’ve been using, with a few AYU eye make-up brushes thrown in for good measure.

Catrice Absolute eyeshadows in Chocolate Nudes
This little palette is a real looker. The six warm nude shades feature three mattes and three shimmers. Although not as highly pigmented as high-end brands, the shadows would be ideal for smokey eye novices. It’s not a bad little palette for €5.49.

Catrice Multi-Matt Blush in Love Rosie
I’ve previously reviewed one of the Catrice blushes here. This plum blush for autumn/winter gives a lovely soft glow to skin. Once again, it’s a bargain at €4.99. Win!

Catrice Sun Glow Mineral Bronzing Powder
My bronzing game is pretty poor – I’m all about rocking my one-dimensional face! But when I do remember to bronze, I’ve been using either this budget one from Catrice (€4.49) or my new MAC In Extra Dimension one (love!). The Catrice baked bronzer is formulated with light-reflecting pigments for a soft matte finish. As Borat would say, I like!!

Ayu All About The Eyes brush set
Finally, I’ve been using some of AYU’s lovely budget make-up brushes for the past few weeks. The All About The Eyes set (€18.50) contains four key eye brushes. The Pro Blender is designed for universal blending of products; the Blender is to soften the edges of more dramatic looks; the Angled Liner can be used with gel, cream or powder; and finally the Crease Brush is for, well, the crease. Although it’s early days, I think this is a great little set and hopefully will stand the test of time when washed.
