Need a new lippy for rocking around the Christmas tree? Nope? Me neither but that hasn’t stopped me trying out these lovelies from budget brand Flormar.
The popular make-up range has just released its Revolution Perfect Lipstick Christmas Collection in three gorgeous berry shades. The lipsticks promise long-lasting colour in a semi-matte finish – and all for €6.95. Whoop!
I was sent the three shades plus its waterproof lip liners (€3.95) but for the purposes of the post I’ve just sampled two shades. (To be honest, I couldn’t really tell the difference between the two vampy colours). Let’s see how I got on…
Flormar Revolution Perfect Lipstick in Revolutionary Red (R06)
Regular readers will know I’m obsessed with red lipsticks. This particular shade is pinkier than I would ordinarily opt for and it reminded me of something my mum would have worn in the Eighties. (Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing).
Formulated with shea butter, the lipstick is super pigmented and moisturising. I did, however, have to re-apply within a couple of hours. But personally I never believe those eight-hour claims so this isn’t a deal breaker for me.
Verdict: As us Eighties kids would say, it’s like totally bitchin’!
Flormar Revolution Perfect Lipstick in Aubergine Opencall (R13)
My vampy days are well behind me but I actually really liked this bizarrely named Aubergine Opencall. For one thing, it perfectly emphasised my uber pale, verging on The Undead winter complexion, which I’m digging at that moment. It also reminded me of my Nineties teenage years when dark lips were where it was at.
Again the lipstick was very moisturising and pigmented but needed quite a bit of topping up.
Verdict: A very cool vampire-like “I vant to suck your blood”.
Have you tried Flormar? What lipsticks will you be rocking around the Christmas tree this year?
