New Smashbox favourites

by ,

As a rule, I’m never more than 6ft away from a Smashbox product at any given time. If you’re ever looking for me, I’m often found loitering with intent around the counter in my local Boots. (There may or may not be a Warning poster at the counter with my face on it…)

My all-time Smashbox favourites include the Photo Finish Primer, the Full Exposure Mascara and the Double Exposure Palette (read the review here and here).

Having said all that, I’ll pretty much try anything Smashbox-y. With that in mind, here’s what I’ve been hauling lately.

Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer (€22)
Up until recent years, I treated all primers with intense suspicion. Wasn’t this just another way for brands to get us to part with our cash? But unsurprisingly, I’m a total convert now and wouldn’t be without a face primer.

However, this is actually my first time using one for the lashes. This multi-purpose conditioning primer can be used both to volumise lashes before mascara or for touch-ups throughout the day. The ultra-thin brush gave me full lashes that looked like falsies – without the actual faff of falsies. I loike this A LOT.

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara (€23)
I’m a big fan of Smashbox mascaras so I knew I’d love this one. The ultra-soft brush gives gorgeously fat lashes without flaking or smudging. What more could you want, really?

Smashbox Indecent Exposure (€23)
If you’re looking for length (that’s what she said), this is yer only man. The slim cut wand (see gallery above) is great for getting right into the lash line while the micro spiral tip makes it really easy to coat even the shortest of lashes. An eyelash batting success!

Smashbox Be Legendary Cream Lipstick in Papaya (€22)
Formulated with shea butter, and Vitamins C and E, this ultra-creamy lipstick feels more like a lipgloss than a lippy. I’ve been wearing the shade Papaya – a beautiful soft coral-nude. It has a lovely high shine finish but just like a lipgloss, doesn’t last and will need to be retouched regularly.

Smashbox Brow Tech Matte Pencil in Brunette (€21)
If you’re looking for a brow pencil with the finest tip, this is the one for you. I’ve tried brow pencils with limited success in the past and usually go straight back to my beloved Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue brow shadow. But this little Smashbox doozy is a good one.

Water-resistant and long-lasting, the pencil is so fine, it’s idiot-proof (moi). Throw in a handy spooly and you’ve got yourself some amaze-brows. Love!
