Winter skin saviours (featuring Clinique)

by ,

My skin is in bits. I blame January/my ongoing sniffles/my hubby (kidding) but there’s no doubt about it, I look absolutely wrecked. If you can imagine The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards after a 72-hour bender, you’re half way there to just how bad I look…

So with a face this mangled, I’ve brought out the big guns. Enter Clinique stage-left with its smart, oily goodness. Here’s what I’ve been smudging all over my face for the past couple of weeks.

Clinique Smart Treatment Oil (€44)

I’m loving my oils these days. Two of my current favourite cleansers (Clinique Cleansing Balm and Environ Cleansing Oil) are oil-based and I’m obsessed with The Body Shop’s Oils of Life. And now Clinique’s Smart Treatment Oil shall join Becca’s Oily Hall Of Fame.

This antioxidant-rich loveliness is light in texture and non-greasy. However, this is strictly a night-time treat for me as I personally wouldn’t wear this under my make-up (not without a primer anyway).

Infused with Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Cranberry Seed Oil, the fragrance-free oil promises to fight free radicals. While I can’t attest for the free radicals, I can tell you that my peeling, snotty nose and dry cracked lips are healing beautifully. Bravo!

Clinique Moisture Surge Melting Mask (€32)

Firstly, let us admire how cute this little pot of goodness is. Now onto the contents. This multi-purpose balm can be used as a hydrating face treatment or an overnight mask.

Formulated with apricot, sunflower seed and macadamia oils, it melts into the skin to relieve winter dryness. This is heaven in a pot and I love, love, love it! After using it, I was less Keith Richards on a bender, and more Kate Moss on a bender. So a definite improvement.

Will you lovely lot be trying any of these Clinique beauties?
