What’s in my make-up bag? Waaaay too much. Obviously this is an edit of my current stash. My make-up reality is overflowing and half-used with lids missing and a liberal sprinkling of face powder over everything. *Monkey covering eyes emoji*
Today’s selection, however, is my most used at the moment. Here’s what I’ve been loving lately and why.
Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30 in shade Alaska (€38)
I’m obsessed with this ‘tint’ from Nars and it has replaced all my other CC and BB creams as The Chosen One. It’s really more of a foundation than a tint and gives light to medium coverage.
And as the name suggests it has a velvet matte finish which means I don’t have to bother with primer, thereby saving myself an extra minute each morning. Result! Available from Space NK now and nationwide from March.
Revlon Powder Blush in Haute Pink (€10.99)
I adore this blush. As you can see, I’ve hit pan (again) and have waxed lyrical about this here before. It gives a gorgeous flush of colour, is not too spendy, is similar to the Nars Deep Throat, and has a smart black compact with mirror. Sure what more could you want?
MAC Ellie Goulding Limited Edition Halcyon Nights (€55)
I feel really, really sorry for all my other eyeshadows because they haven’t had a look-in since Ellie’s palette came on the scene (read review here). The four eyeshadows are the most perfect neutrals with a secret highlight compartment underneath.
Sometimes I’ll wear just the peach, sometimes all four but I get complimented on it every single time I do. The palette is still available for a limited time and you would be cray-cray to miss out. Just sayin’.
Make Up For Ever High Definition MicroFinish Powder (full size €35)
This is literally one of the best finishing powder’s I’ve ever used. I’ve pictured the sample size here (mainly because it’s sooo cute) but I’ve since purchased the full size.
It’s talc-free, transparent and gives skin a sheer finish. As the shiniest girl alive, this is my holy grail powder.
Lancome Artliner Eye Liner €29
I rarely wear eye liner as it’s a right faff. But this Lancome pen makes it a breeze. It’s ultra fine point pretty much makes it idiot-proof. I recently misplaced my beloved MAC Fluidline pen (whoops) so this has made a very fine stand-in. Thanks Lancome liner – you rock!
Max Factor Velvet Volume Mascara €16.99
This no-nonsense mascara gives great lashes. The firm brush with alternating short and long bristles really coats all the lashes. And the formulation itself is superb – doesn’t clump or flake with no gloopiness. Nothing worse than a gloopy mascara, am I riiight?
So ladies, what’s in your make-up bag?
