Five Minutes With: Made In Chelsea’s Stephanie Pratt

by ,

Made In Chelsea stunner Stephanie Pratt glows with health. However, the reality TV star reveals she wasn’t always blessed with great skin. Here the ambassador for skin experts Witch Skincare reveals her beauty secrets.

On her top five beauty tips
- Sleep! I think beauty sleep is the real deal – for me that’s 10 hours.
- Not drinking sodas and watching what you eat. I love eating chocolate at night but it always breaks me out so I do think it’s important to be mindful of what you eat.
- Always take off your make-up at night before you go to bed – there’s no excuse! If I haven’t got much time then I’ll just use a Micellar Cleansing Lotion like the Witch one as it helps to keep my skin clear.
- Exfoliate regularly. I also like the Witch one because it’s gentle enough to use every day.
- Use regular face masks. I love to apply a really thick mask at the end of the week especially when you’ve been wearing lots of make-up. It helps to get the moisture back into the skin. I use the Dermalogica one.

On her morning skincare regime
I’ve got my morning regime down and it only takes about 30 minutes. I don’t always wash my face especially if my skin feels dry. A dermatologist told me this years ago after I complained of my skin not getting better despite all of my cleansing!

Instead I’ll skip straight to toner and apply a moisturiser with SPF, then the Witch Daily Primer & Clearing Serum and then I apply my make-up. I keep things simple and always wear the same colours.

On her night-time skincare regime
I start with a cleanser. Depending on how my skin is I’ll either use the Witch Bursting Beads wash or the Witch Daily Exfoliating Scrub if I need some exfoliation. I’ve noticed that just one cleanse doesn’t get rid of all the make-up and dirt from the day which is why I love the Witch Cleansing & Toning Wipes. I’m always amazed by how much the Witch wipes take off. Then I apply a Dermalogica toner and moisturiser, eye cream and if I have a blemish I’ll use the Witch Blemish Stick.

I can never find the right eye cream so my friend just recommended the Neocutis Lumiere Eye Cream. I’ve been wearing it religiously every morning and night.

My night-time moisturiser depends on my skin as it’s always changing. Sometimes I’ll wear one that’s really light like the Witch Overnight Clearing Serum but if it’s really dry then I’ll wear a thicker, super-rich cream and add some oil drops to it too.

On recreating her favourite make-up look
I love a bronzed look. I’ll start with a moisturiser following by a serum. I think it’s really important to wear a primer – it works as a barrier to any make-up you’re wearing, protecting your skin. I’m convinced you break out if you don’t use one.

Then I’m ready for my foundation base with a couple of drops of the Ark Skin Response Radiance Serum, and set it with a powder. I apply bronzer all over the face and neck – I use one by California Tan.

This might sound crazy but my favourite look is to wear a red eyeshadow, then I put gold and copper glitter dust on top. The red and gold really make my eyes look blue. Then I finish with a thick, winged liner in navy blue with tons of mascara and fake lashes.

On faking a good night’s sleep
The Bursting Beads Face Wash by Witch immediately wakes up your skin. And I’ll add some hyaluronic serum with Ark Radiance Serum to my moisturiser. A bit of concealer under the eyes and mascara instantly makes me look more awake.

On top tips for staying in shape
You just have to go to the gym. A balanced diet is so important. If I diet every day then I just go wild at the weekend so I try to follow the 30/70 rule of being good 70 per cent of the time. My trainer has always said to me that abs are made in the kitchen.

On still getting spots
No matter what I do, I always break out around my chin at certain times of the month. I always have a blemish gel handy – the Witch Blemish Gel really works and feels soothing on the skin too.

If I’m having a major breakout, I won’t try and take care of it myself. I usually use a drying lotion but if that doesn’t work, I’ll get a facial.

I had such bad skin in high school that I always try to take care of my skin. I’m such a water drinker and I think that really helps. I use a face wash like the Witch Bursting Beads one. When I’m not filming, I don’t wear make-up so that my skin has a chance to breathe. Watermelon juice is also great for making your skin glow.

On her worst beauty faux pas
About two months ago I saw a guy friend who’d had his eyelashes permed. My lashes were long but I just wanted them to have a curl. It was the worst mistake ever, they were such tight little curls. I couldn’t really stretch out my lashes and it looked like I had a weird little caterpillar on my eye line. When they grew out, they grew in all different directions, even make-up artists noticed. They’ve only just started to straighten out now.

On the new series of Made In Chelsea
It’s airing right now. Lucy and I are having a fall out and that increases. More people get involved – the usual! It’s what you’d expect from MIC. Binky and JP also have made a giant step in their relationship by saying ‘I love you’.

On her cast mates skincare tips
Rosie has the prettiest skin. She is very against self-tanners and I’m guessing she really takes good care of her skin in the sun. She doesn’t want any pigmentation at all. Her skin is like porcelain, it’s so pretty.

On getting ready for a date
I really like the Ark Skin Response Radiance Serum, it really makes your skin glow. I brush with Rapid White toothpaste as it instantly makes my teeth look whiter. I will use lighter products when I’m on a date as I don’t like to look like it’s caked on. You really don’t want chapped lips too so I make sure I use Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Chapstick.

On her top 10 beauty products

Kerastase hair mask – I love it because I get so many blowouts and my hair is always so fried and the mask just locks in the conditioning and nutrients it needs.
Dermalogica Moisturiser with SPF – I wear this everyday. It’s so light so it doesn’t have that sunscreen oil feeling and it never runs into my eyes (even when I’m hiking)!
Witch Cleansing & Toning Wipes – I always keep them in my car and I’ve used them my whole life.
Witch Daily Primer & Clearing Serum – I’m convinced that you breakout if you don’t wear a primer under your makeup.
Ark Skin Response Radiance Serum – It’s my beauty secret. It makes my skin so glowy.
Rapid White Teeth Whitening Strips – I use these strips to help keep my teeth looking really white.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream – Someone just told me about this, I think it’s great.
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner Spray – I use this leave-in conditioner; I always need a moisturizing detangler after I shower!
Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine Illuminating Mist – I use this illuminating mist to keep my hair shiny.
Kiehls Crème de Corps Body Lotion – I’m really bad at using a body lotion. But moving to London has really affected my skin. This lotion is nice and thick and will help even the driest skin.
