The Only Way Is Essex’s Chloe Lewis never looks anything but flawless. The new face of Collection Make-Up’s DeLuxe lipsticks, the TOWIE star shares her beauty and fitness secrets with The Beauty Inbox.
On her summer make-up look
I wear a natural look all year round, but I tend to highlight more in the summer for a sunkissed shimmer. I love Benefit’s High Beam as it provides the perfect subtle highlight without being overly shimmery. I wear MAC eyeshadow in Expensive Pink paired with some brown liner for a subtle summer eye. I like to keep my make-up fresh and natural as I think this is the most flattering look for everyone.
I always wear a nude lip. In the spring and summer I go for a more pinky shade – the Babydoll shade from the Collection DeLuxe lipstick range is perfect, and then a pale Nineties beige for winter.
I’m not a contour lover – I think sometimes using contour palettes and painting your face can look ‘overly done’. For a subtly contoured look, I apply a base foundation (Giorgio Armani Maestro) and then apply a lighter shade of concealer (Collection Lasting Perfection) under the eyes to brighten my complexion.
After applying a base I’ll highlight with a light shimmering stick along my brow bone, down my nose, the tops of my cheeks and cupid’s bow. I’m a highlighting girl through and through. This is super quick and easy in the morning rather than taking time to paint on a contour, and looks far more natural.
On her role as Collection DeLuxe Lipstick range ambassador
I always wear a nude lip so I was really excited when Collection launched their new nude DeLuxe Lipstick shades. All of the colours are really easy to wear. Sundance (coral) is my absolute favourite shade and Babydoll (light pink) is the perfect shade for a laid back daytime look.
On her tips for the perfect pout
My tip for achieving the ultimate pout is to always use a lip liner. To apply I first prep the area by using a neutral concealer around the lips, either applied with a finger or a beauty blender. Then I apply a lip liner, either Charlotte Tilbury or a MAC one, followed by a nude lip like the Collection DeLuxe Lipstick.
On her daily skincare regime
I’ve recently overhauled my skincare regime. I went to see a skincare specialist who prescribed me with the Obagi range. I suffered with acne when I was younger and have a tiny bit of scarring so I’m hoping to clear that up with this new regime. Before I changed my routine I used a lot of Kiehls products.
On her favourite make-up artist
Charlotte Tilbury is my favourite make-up artist – her looks are really fresh and glowy. I also really like Francesca Neill’s looks as all of her clients look radiant but fresh-faced. Occasionally, for big events or shoots, I’ll use make-up artist Melissa Sophia, but I enjoy doing my own make-up day to day and would love to be a make-up artist.
On her favourite red carpet look
I’ve never been to a red carpet! My favourite celebrity red carpet look is Rosie Huntington Whiteley at the 2016 Golden Globes – her make-up look was so gorgeous and natural.
On getting ready to go out
I get ready so quickly. On a normal day I’ll usually take 15 minutes to do my make-up and 10 minutes for skincare. If I wash my hair it will be an extra 30 minutes. I usually do quite similar natural looks for night time too so I really only ever take an hour tops – I’m really speedy.
On her favourite beauty icon
My beauty icon is Jessica Alba – she’s so beautiful she makes me sick! I love her fresh, effortless look, and she has the best eyebrows.
On what’s in her handbag
I don’t go anywhere without my Collection DeLuxe Lipstick in BabyDoll – it’s the perfect nude lip and goes great with any make-up look. When I’m out and about I always carry a tub of Kiehls Super Multi-Corrective Moisturiser which I apply on top of my make-up to make my skin look glowy and awake. I also carry a tube of Nivea Soft Moisture Cream in my bag as it’s cheap and you can use it anywhere your skin needs moisture.
On tips for the perfect Instagram selfie
Everyone has their own signature pose so just rock your own style and be confident in yourself and then you’ll look great. I find that I usually turn my head slightly to the side for my pose as it means the light hits your face in a really flattering way. Depending on how I’m feeling I’ll either pout or smile.
On her top three hairstyles
I really love having my hair up. A loose top knot is my go-to daytime look – it’s so easy to do and you can get away with not washing your hair.
On the TOWIE girls
Georgia Kousoulou has great style – she’s like a Kardashian. She always funks it up and plays around with her looks. Kate Wright always looks great – she’s majorly sexy. Lydia Bright has such a classic style and looks immaculate. I love all three of those girls.
On favourite high street shops
I love Topshop and H&M. My favourite shop at the moment is Marks and Spencer – it’s my guilty pleasure and they have some really great hidden gems.
On summer wardrobe staples
A pair of denim shorts are my summer staple – they go with everything! I love wearing playsuits on hot days as you don’t have to think about it – you don’t have to match anything to it or worry about your outfit.
On her own clothing collection
I’ve recently launched my own collection with Little Mistress – I’ve got three ranges, Girls On Film, Paper Dolls and Little Mistress Prom. There is really something for everyone – from cute skirts to going out dresses. My favourite piece is a lovely royal blue crochet dress – it’s perfect for summer.
On her style crush
My ultimate style crush is Olivia Culpo – she’s out of this world! Everything she does, from her make-up to her dress sense, looks amazing. I also love Jessica Alba, she’s so effortless.
On her style evolution
Over the past year I’ve been more experimental with my fashion – I still like looking natural, but wearing things that are a bit more unusual.
On fashion faux pas
I think everyone has one thing that they’ve worn that makes them cringe! I once wore a cut out white swimsuit that wasn’t the most flattering and a paparazzi caught me at a really awful angle. Sometimes covering up is better than showing off. You can’t really go wrong when you cover up.
On keeping fit
It’s really hard to fit in exercise around my filming schedule but I like to run in between shoots and go to the gym as much as I can to keep fit. I like to mix it up with a Bikram Yoga class once a week – I find it leaves me feeling really good and positive within myself.
On a typical day’s food
If I’m being good I’ll have Weetabox in the morning, tuna salad for lunch and white fish and veg for dinner. I do have cheat days where I eat toast with peanut butter in the morning and then a massive spaghetti bolognese for dinner.
On her guilty pleasures
Cookies and biscuits are my guilty pleasure – I snack on these constantly! I know they’re full of sugar but I can’t stop myself.
On going out
I’m not a massive party animal, I much prefer a relaxed night in with the girls. My ideal evening would be a relaxed evening or dinner and drinks in London – I love Nobu.
On body confidence
Being confident in your own skin is the key to feeling great – being confident and carefree is the best thing that you can be.
