Move over blueberries and goji berries, the new superfoods are the ones you can smear all over your face. No longer content with just eating wonder ingredients, we now what them in our beauty skincare.
Recognising the power of superfoods, The Body Shop has just launched its new Superfood Face Mask range. Packed, crushed and drizzled with only natural, 100 per cent vegetarian ingredients and formulated without parabens, there are five masks in the range.
To detoxify skin, I’m loving the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. A blend of bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and tea tree oil, the mask is your typical old-school clay mask that helps draw out impurities and clear blackheads – it’s perfect for oily girls like me.
Next up, the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask will help rehydrate dry skin. Inspired by European bathing rituals, the mask is a blend of rose petals and Omega-rich rosehip oil. As roses are my favourite flower, this is a big hit with me and my skin.
If you suffer with very dry skin, you’ll love the Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask. This intense hydrating treatment is a blend of Ethiopian honey, marula and olive oils. Your skin will literally drink this one up!
My personal favourite is the Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask for those of us ladies who suffer with dull skin. The mask’s ginseng will help stimulate and revitalise skin while the oleic and linoleic rich seasame seed oil helps soften skin.
Finally, the Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask will help restore balance to stressed out skin. A blend of Acai berry extract, Guarana seed and organic babassu oil from Brazil, it’s a little boost for tired skin.
All gorgeous and delicious and priced €25 from The Body Shop. Just please try resist eating them…
Can you trust yourself not to eat The Body Shop Superfood Face Masks? I’m not so sure…
