“I’m turning Japanese, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so”… thanks to the new Shiseido Lift Dynamic Skincare. For those of you old enough to remember that Vapors’ 1980s hit song Turning Japanese, then I’m afraid this anti-ageing skincare range may be for you!
The new line from the iconic Japanese skincare brand has taken luxury and anti-ageing to a whole new level. From the sublime packaging to the advanced, patented formulations, the Lift Dynamic is impressive (and spendy).
And now for the science bit. Formulated with bio-hyaluronic acid for deep moisturisation, the Shiseido boffins focused on how best to create a range of targeted products that encourage cell renewal and ‘lift’ from the bottom of the skin layers.
Ideally this skincare line is for the more mature lady. Not my “mature” (cheeky!) but for women in their fifties and older. I always ask the skincare brands what will happen if I use it and they usually just respond that it may be a bit too rich for younger skins but nothing bad will happen (phew!). I’ve been trying this out for a month now and here’s how I got on.
Shiseido Bio-Performance Lift Dynamic Serum (€105)
The rich serum creates a smooth, firm base. As it’s for older skins, it’s thicker than a normal serum and packed with hydrating hyaluronic acid. However, the serum does absorb quickly and leaves no residue. A current winter favourite.
Shiseido Bio-Performance Lift Dynamic Cream (€130)
The super rich cream is luxurious, comforting and promises visible lift. The hyaluronic acid helps plump skin from the inside and skin looks radiant by morning. As this is incredibly rich, however, it would be suited for dry, mature or combination skin types. I’d imagine this is too rich for excessively oily types.
Shiseido Bio-Performance Lift Dynamic Eye Treatment (€80)
I love a good eye cream and this one is exceptional. Formulated with rosemary phyto-essence, the eye cream helps target dark circles and deep wrinkles. Lightweight and nourishing, this is one of the best releases of the year. Love.
