The Essential Valentine’s Lips

by ,

I love lipstick. I love Lisa Eldridge. Combine the two and what have you got? Fourteen desirable new shades in the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge collection. The celeb make-up artist has created a stunning collection of nudes, pinks and reds to join the 36 shade collection of sheer, creams and all new matte lippies.

Packaged in a jewelled click bullet – a tribute to the original Lancome jewel cases by Armand Petitjean – the lipsticks are priced €31 each.

As it’s Valentine’s weekend, I thought what better way to mark the day than with countless photos of me pouting. Afterall, nothing says romance than a bunch of Becca selfies. With that in mind, here’s my thoughts (and selfies) on the collection.

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Matte in 186 Idole
I love this red (quelle surprise!). It’s vibrant, long-lasting and just the right side of matte (ie: not drying on the lips). The packaging is also divine and I feel super chic taking this out of my purse.

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Sheer in 371 Pourquoi Pas?
A gorgeous hit of pink, this sheer is really moisturising and comfortable to wear. I don’t tend to wear sheers as I can’t be bothered to reapply. But if I were to wear a sheer, I’d imagine it would be this elegant one. Love!

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Cream in 343 Suspense
I absolutely adore this neutral shade. It’s wearable, hydrating and incredibly flattering. If I had to pick from the three lipsticks, this is my fave.

In the gallery above, I’m wearing:
- Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in Cream in 343 Suspense
- Flormar Anti-Blemish Foundation, shade 04 Ivory (review here)
- Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadows (review here)
- Flormar Push Up Definition Mascara, shade Jet Black (review here)

Overall, the Lancome’s lipsticks are pure quality. I think every girl would be thrilled to receive one (or three) of these lippies this Valentine’s.  And on that note, Happy Valentine’s ladies!
