Apart from being an all-round frickin’ amazing bunch of people, us Irish also have some amazing beauty companies creating some pretty amazing products. Case in point: the plethora of excellent Irish-made organic skincare ranges.
While I use a mix of organic and non-organic products in my day-to-day life, I’ve found myself gravitating towards more natural skin and hair care products of late. It just feels right somehow.
So today I thought I showcase a few of my (old) and new favourites in my bathroom cabinet. Shout in the comments below if you think there is something I’d like to try!
Ria Organics is an Irish company run by a sister and two brothers. Ria pride themselves on its quality ingredients and luxe packaging. I have been using and loving the Restorative Eye Cream lately. A blend of avocado, apricot kernel and argan oil, it feels really hydrating around the delicate eye area. Love!
Modern Botany – how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! This multi-purpose oil is phenomenal. I’ve been reaching for it every day for the past few months and use it for my face (day and night – a little goes a long way) and for my split ends. It smells heavenly, it looks chic and it’s Irish (all the way from the Wild Atlantic Way). Hoorah!
Ocean Bloom is new for me. The West Cork organic skincare brand uses Irish seaweed in its range. This seaweed moisturiser is lightweight and leaves skin feeling soft and supported.
I’m a long-time fan of Bia Beauty and have waxed lyrical about the brand here. As a hand cream obsessive, Bia Beauty’s Lemon Myrtle is one of my all-time favourites. Fragrant, quickly absorbed and kind to hands, what’s not to love?
I am completely obsessed with this Green Angel body scrub! So obsessed, I have to stop myself from eating it in the shower. A blend of grapefruit and citrus, it melts to leave a little of its heavenly oil behind on skin.
I’ve spoken about Kinvara skincare before here and am mad about it. The award-winning brand consistently brings out amazing products that deliver. This roseship serum is no exception and is kind and effective on sensitive skin.
I’m fairly new to Human & Kind (read review here). The Cork brand is actually really big internationally and is only taking off here in Ireland now. The family-run business produce reliable products in colourful packaging. This family rescue cream is a great all-rounder and we love it here in Chez Barker.
Finally, this luxurious bottle of body oil from BareChic Skin has been a firm favourite for months. Its super rich formula leaves limbs glistening and is perfect if you suffer from dry skin (like moi). The hand-blended oils are Irish (course!) and arrive in gloriously chic black and white packaging. Love, love, love!
