YSL Black Opium

by ,

When it comes to designer perfume, I’m a monogamist. So as a committed Chanel No.5 girl, I was caught completely off-guard this Christmas by falling in love with another scent.

I realise I’m late to the blogger party with this one but as it was a Christmas present from Mr TBI, I simply couldn’t ignore YSL Black Opium in all its gorgeousness.

When I was spritzed with this by the YSL girl in Brown Thomas last September, I knew I had to have it. As a caffeine fiend, the main notes in the perfume are actually coffee with accords of vanilla, pink pepper and orange blossom. Some might find the vanilla a little sickly but I love it – I thought it was a perfect scent over the festive season.

The bottle is meant to look a little rock ‘n’ roll with its black sequin packaging. Personally I think it’s a little cheesy looking – I much prefer a solid glass bottle (yes I’m thinking of you Chanel!). I guess you never really get over your first love…

Have you tried YSL Black Opium?
