If you can’t wear a pink lipstick at Valentine’s, then when can you? As we get older, we tend to shy away from brights on the lips but I think it really adds youth to a face. I mean only da kidz would wear a shocking pink, riiight?
In the gallery above, I’m wearing Wet n Wild’s MegLast Lipstick in Don’t Blink Pink. These budget beauties (€2.99!) are gorgeously creamy, long-lasting and give a semi-matte finish.
Meanwhile, there are a couple of rules to wearing a bright lipstick.
- Firstly, lay off the blusher – unless you want to end up looking like Marge Simpson after Homer blasted her with his make-up gun.
- Secondly, go easy on the eye make-up. I’m wearing a subtle smokey eye.
- Thirdly, the pros recommend a dewy base. I’m still clinging to my matte look for dear life, but I did just keep the powder to my oily T-zone.
- Finally, find someone to smooch. It would be a shame to waste such a bright lippy!
Would you wear a bright pink lipstick out in public?
